Of course, when someone has a medical emergency, the first thing they do is go to the hospital but the important thing to note here is not all hospitals are created equal. So, what are some of the best ones in the good old us of a? Well, that is exactly why Jordan Sudberg is here. He will be giving you the lowdown on which ones have become known as some of the best in the nation. Here are his top 5 hospitals throughout the United States of America. So, the first one on the list is cedars Sinai Medical Center in the heart of LA. First founded back in 1902, this 886-bed hospital was quick to build up its reputation as one of the premier hospitals in the nation. It is estimated that they employ more than 2,000 physicians and 10,000 employees on their staff & it has since become a teaching hospital in conjunction with the David Geffen school of medicine at UCLA. They focus mostly on biomedical research, but they also study medical education as well as cancer. So, the next one on the list takes us over to the east coast as we take a look at Johns Hopkins hospital in Baltimore, MD. First founded back in 1889, it has since become one of the most well-respected medical institutions in the world & was added to the NRHP back in 1975. What’s interesting about this one is that they don’t just focus on physical treatments but, rather, they also have a psych ward for those who want to get better mentally. They have a lot of different disciplines there from child psychiatry to cardiac surgery and have been in the hospital to 5 list for 32 years straight now. So, for the next one on the list, we’re going back to the west coast as we take a look at the UCLA medical center, also in LA. Named after former president Reagan & first opened back in 1955, the UCLA medical center has been named the best hospital on the west coast for a few years running & covers almost all the major specialties of medicine from surgery to nursing to dentistry. They also have a level 1 trauma center for adult patients as well as geriatrics. We go back to the east for the next entry on the list as we discuss the Cleveland clinic. First opened back in 1921, it has more than 1974 residents as well as 4520 physicians. And finally, we head north for the final hospital on the list, the mayo clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. First founded back in 1864 & named for William Worrall Mayo, they have more than 4,500 physicians and 58,400 people on staff. They spend more than $660 million a year on research & employ more than 3000 full time researchers. So that concludes the list of the top 5 hospitals in the nation as provided by none other than Jordan Sudberg.
