Challenges of Company Expansion

Challenges of Company Expansion

Whether a start-up or an established company, the growth process is always fraught with obstacles. As a company grows, it faces different challenges, as pain management specialist Jordan Sudberg explains below:

1) Economic challenges

When a company expands, additional funding will be needed, which may lead to problems if the business does not manage its finances effectively. With an expansion in mind, the company must hire new employees and increase expenses such as equipment, consumables, and other resources. Including the above spike in labor cost increases the budget of the company.

2) Miscommunication

As the number of people grows within a work group and team, there will be a rapid change in technology, tools, and procedures between them. The employees commonly don’t have enough expertise to manage all new knowledge presented to them by the company due to this lack of communication. It is hard to communicate this due to the fast advancement of technology and new tools.

3) Change in focus

As a company expands, new products are created and introduced to the public, this is not a problem for most companies, and it is an opportunity for them. However, there are times that management needs to focus on and emphasize certain products to gain profit from them. This shift creates a shift in the new product’s marketing plan and other strategies that affect different businesses or departments within the company.

4) Additional responsibilities

As the business grows, it must learn new strategies to adapt to the growth, meaning that those who are part of the organization must also learn and adapt. In doing this, many individuals may face more work than they can handle, necessitating the entrusting of some chores to others. Jordan Sudberg points out that delegation is one of the biggest challenges a company faces when trying to expand.

5) Management challenges

The expansion may mean the company must hire new managers with different opinions and thoughts from the previous managers. The business must learn to integrate both ideas to run its operations efficiently, which may lead to confusion between management and other employees.

6) Cultural conflicts

As the company expands, it will have to adapt to different cultures within its operations, which may lead to cultural clashes. The idea of expansion may lead to new ideas and innovations that will influence the organization. For example, if the business expands overseas or internationally, agreeing with the local laws and regulations significantly accommodates legal issues. Managers must ensure that any changes in decision-making covering new procedures or processes are justifiable.

7) Legislative challenges

If the business expands, it will have to apply to different agencies and regulators with new regulations that require an explanation of new policies. This situation can create significant challenges in ensuring the company is ready for all regulatory changes.

When a company expands, it is vital that a strategy is well planned and put into action. The economic, legislative, and cultural changes are significant challenges one must overcome to ensure the company’s success.

Author Spotlight: Stuart Waldner

Activist and author Stuart Waldner is up to release his debut novel ‘Escape the Meatrix: Eat Plants, Feel Great, and Save the Planet!’ this October 11, under Houndstooth Press. But before we talk about the exciting details of his upcoming book, let’s get to know Stuart Waldner.

Stuart Waldner is an author/activist of the upcoming book ‘Escape the Meatrix: Eat Plants, Feel Great, and Save the Planet!’. The book Escape the Meatrix was written after Stuart switched to a plant-based diet in 2008.

Stuart Waldner is living in Lexington, Kentucky, in the United States. Lexington, Kentucky, is one of the country’s poorer and least educated areas with unhealthy individuals. Despite this, it’s one of the most beautiful places filled with genuine people, which Stuart appreciates. Growing up, Stuart witnessed those around him become ill, so he decided to make some changes in his lifestyle that could offer him the best chance to avoid the illnesses he saw in his relatives and the people he grew up with. In 1985, when Stuart was 23, he stopped eating meat and started exercising. It was not until 2008 that Stuart entirely went with a plant-based lifestyle. People may see it as a foolish decision, but Stuart’s life experiences prove that it was a big, good decision.

After transitioning to a plant-based lifestyle, Stuart discovered the connection between food choices and global crises such as climate change. The more Stuart learned about the statistical data that links dietary choices and the current global crisis, the more he was eager to convince other people to wake up.

When not advocating, Stuart Waldner spends his free time playing with his dogs, cooking plant-based foods, running, and restoring his 128-year-old Victorian home. Stuart’s doctor and the people around him can’t help but notice his excellent health—all thanks to a plant-based lifestyle.

‘Escape the Meatrix: Eat Plants, Feel Great, and Save the Planet!’ is an environmental, health, and wellness nonfiction book which features personal experience and data supported with research and scientific evidence. Here, Stuart Waldner boldly tells the truth about the Meatrix and how it led people to believe that animal-based products are natural and necessary when it was only conditioned to use them. Supported by science and research, the book illustrates how switching to a plant-based lifestyle can positively affect and improve a person’s health. It also averts the effects of climate change which can be a more significant problem for future generations. Stuart Waldner invites the readers to challenge the status quo and don’t sway with the growing animal-based consumers. The evidence is presented in the book. It’s up to you to decide whether you accept the action or stay the same.

You can check out and pre-order Escape the Meatrix: Eat Plants, Feel Great, and Save the Planet! on Amazon.

Current Trends in Your Industry

Current Trends in Your Industry

Recent years have seen a lot of changes in the workforce. With so much opportunity, the new generation is more entrepreneurial than ever. Industries are shifting towards more tech and automation. Many recent trends are disrupting traditional work environments and shifting them towards a more individualized work style. Here we discuss some of the most prominent trends and what it means for the workplace.

1. Automation

As technology advances, businesses can automate previously time-consuming and tedious tasks. This allows them to focus on more complex tasks and increases their productivity. Automation is especially prominent in industrial and manufacturing. Algorithms have been implemented behind the scenes, decreasing human error and increasing efficiency. It also gives employees more time to work on creative projects or relax.

2. Transformation to Virtual Firms

Virtual firms allow employees to work from home, allowing them greater flexibility. This will enable employees to focus on projects without phone calls or office interruptions. Managed IT service companies have made it easy to set up a virtual office and access cloud storage for easier sharing of files and information. There are still some downsides, though. Discipline must still be used to avoid procrastination and distractions. A virtual office can be a great way to attract employees who value work/life balance or want to work in different locations than their homes. According to Dr. Jordan Sudberg, brands and organizations that haven’t embraced a virtual model are losing a large portion of the workforce.

3. Combining Online and Offline Services

For many industries, online and offline services can be combined to be more effective. Restaurants, retailers, and dating services use online delivery. This makes it easier for customers to access these services without being stressed about missing out on an opportunity if they don’t get there quickly enough. The internet has essentially eliminated the need for complicated delivery options. Customer service representatives are often overworked and stressed out and have much more time to deal with customers in person. Employees of these businesses can spend less time on the phone and more time with the customer.

4. Blockchain & Artificial Intelligence

Blockchain is a digital ledger that records transactions. This system creates a great way to record, share and secure information. It can be used in almost any industry to give business owners more control over their knowledge and improve the reliability of their data. Many online databases have been the subject of hacking scandals. The blockchain can secure information with little risk of errors. This will allow companies to create more valuable databases, which can be used for various functions like customer interaction, sales, etc. Recent and more intelligent systems enable companies to store and analyze data more effectively. This will give companies better control over their information.

Both employees and employers need to understand the changes that are happening in industries. While some jobs may become obsolete, new opportunities are opening daily. A bachelor’s degree has always been the standard qualification, but employers look for more than just a piece of paper. An entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to adapt in response to change can be pretty valuable. According to Dr. Jordan Sudberg, industries need people who are highly motivated and can work well in a group.

The Advantages Of Becoming A Nurse Coach With The Nurse Coach Collective

For a lot of people, the process of becoming a nurse isn’t worth it. The selflessness you need to have to be a nurse isn’t for everyone. It also makes it much more of a passion than a job for most that take on the tall task. After all, if you look at the long hours that must be spent on your feet, it’s easy to see why a lot of people might look elsewhere for a career path. Thus, those that stick it out tend to be extremely passionate about helping others. Nurses need to be very committed to helping their patients if they are to make it in the difficult profession. Nurses provide vital assistance to patients in need. It doesn’t matter what specialization they choose, they provide comfort to those that need it the most. They treat patients recovering from surgery, help usher in new life, and even comfort those who may be in their final stages of life.

The issue is, a lot of nurses are quickly becoming disappointed with the way of modern Western medicine. The fact is, a lot of Western medicine is backward. It encourages the treatment of symptoms one is experiencing rather than treating what’s causing the symptoms. The focus on treating symptoms doesn’t go unnoticed by nurses across the country. Nurses are on the front lines so they know how ineffective this entire strategy is. They get very close to their patients, so they know that they aren’t truly providing their patients with what they need to enhance their quality of life. The conventional model requires a drastic transformation. There needs to be a shift towards the treatment of the whole body. A much more holistic approach is needed to ensure a patient improves their health and wellness. This includes helping them improve their quality of sleep, diet, exercise routine, and even their mental health.

This disenchantment has ended up fueling a lot of searching for better alternatives. Nurses are starting to look elsewhere to see if there is a better way to help their patients. They want to make a change for the better that will allow them to fulfill their passion for truly helping others. A lot of nurses have found that becoming a nurse coach offers the opportunity they’ve been missing. After all, they get to leverage all of the skills they have in the medical field yet help their patients truly enhance their quality of life by improving their whole body health instead of just treating symptoms.

This is where the advantages of becoming a nurse coach come into play. A professional nurse coach can help a patient better focus on their physical, spiritual, and mental health. Through nurse coaching, they can help their patients enjoy a better quality of life because they will truly be healthier as a result.

Becoming A Board-Certified Nurse Coach – The Advantages Of Becoming A Nurse Coach

Holistic care isn’t new. However, it’s quickly becoming adopted in the United States as a viable and perhaps superior treatment method. There are already thousands of different nurse coaches scattered across the country. More nurses are leaping every day to become nurse coaches through obtaining their Transformative Nurse Coach Certification from reputable organizations like The Nurse Coach Collective.

To truly enjoy the countless benefits of obtaining a nurse coach certification, you will need to have a current/active and unrestricted license to be a Registered Nurse. You don’t need a specific specialization. All you need is an active and unrestricted license.

You will go through various evidence-based videos that teach you everything along the way. The entire program will take around 7 months to complete. The good thing about it is that you can do everything online. It doesn’t require in-person participation. This means that you can continue to do your job and your regular shifts. This allows you to tackle the learning on your own time and it helps you continue to work as a nurse in the meantime. With the program, you get the benefit of having access to live support calls with helpful and experienced nurse coaches. They can answer any questions you have. Along with this, you also get access to a vibrant nurse coach community where you can bounce ideas off. They can offer you shared experiences and help whenever you need it. This is one of the advantages of becoming a nurse coach with The Nurse Coach Collective.

The Advantages Of Becoming A Nurse Coach

You don’t have any special requirements when it comes to being a nurse coach. That being said, you will benefit from becoming a nationally accredited nurse coach. The American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corp (AHNCC) is the one that will be offering accreditation for the certification. This helps prove that nurse coaches have obtained the necessary knowledge and skills to prove competency in the subject.

There are over 3 million nurses in the USA alone that are constantly seeking jobs. This can make the marketplace very competitive. By gaining board certification, you can gain a competitive advantage over the competition. This is only one of the advantages of becoming a nurse coach.

The good news is that becoming a nurse coach is going to give you even more benefits than that. As mentioned, the advantages of becoming a nurse coach are seemingly neverending. There are both tangible and intangible benefits. As a nurse coach, not only are you going to be able to make more of a difference in your patient’s lives, but you are also going to fulfill your true passion for nursing because of it. There have been studies that have shown that the recovery rates of patients who receive holistic care are much better than those that only get symptom-based care. Thus, patients that receive care from a trained nurse coach end up improving their quality of life much quicker and more effectively.

The benefits of becoming a nurse coach can be plentiful. The majority of those that leap to become one report they regain the passion they once lost. They also report they are much more satisfied with their job and their work. A qualified nurse coach can enjoy much more freedom in their ability to help their patients recover and better their lives.

If you want to start reigniting your passion for nursing once again, it might be time to leap yourself. Visit us at The Nurse Coach Collective. You can contact us right now and speak with one of our professional nurse coaches to get any pertinent questions answered.

4 Tips for Outsourcing IT Support

Restaurants, supermarkets, assisted living facilities, saloons; what business doesn’t need IT support these days? From the very real threat of data breaches to the rise of spam and phishing emails, there are plenty of reasons to have a reliable IT support person in your corner. But what if you don’t have the in-house resources to handle all of your tech needs? That’s where outsourcing comes in.

Outsourcing IT support can be a great way to get the help you need without breaking the bank. But it’s not simply a matter of hiring the first person you find. Here are four tips to help you make the right choice for your business.

Define Your Needs

The first step in outsourcing IT support is to take a close look at your business’s current IT needs. Is your primary concern customer data protection? Do you need help managing a complex network?

Once you have a clear understanding of what your organization needs, you can start to look for a support person that specializes in those areas. Information technology is a broad industry and one person can hardly be an expert in every single aspect.

Do Your Research

Once needs are clearly defined, it’s time to start your search for the right person.

You can either ask for recommendations from other businesses in your industry or search online yourself on Linkedin and job boards. Once you have a few potential candidates, be sure to check out not just their CVs but also their websites and social media profiles to get a better sense of what they do.

For example, if you’re looking for help with data protection, a person that has client testimonials on their website from businesses who are happy with data protection work done for them would be a good choice.

Get a Trial Period

Before you commit to working with any IT support person, it’s important to make sure that they’re the right fit for your business. Besides expertise, things like having good communication and collaborative skills should not be underrated.

The best way to gauge this is to get a trial period, even if it’s just for a week or two. This way you can see firsthand how well they work with other employees and whether or not they’re a good fit for your business.

Get Everything in Writing

Last but not least, once you’ve found the right person, be sure to get everything in writing. This includes not just the scope of work and deliverables but also things like payment terms, turnaround times, and contact information.

Business relationships can be tricky and misunderstandings can have consequences like extra charges, delayed projects, and even expensive lawsuits, so it’s always better to be safe than sorry.

Outsourcing IT support can be a great way to get the help you need without breaking the bank. But it’s not a decision to be made lightly. With these four tips in mind, you can be sure to find the right help.

How to Manage Your Staff While Traveling

How to Manage Your Staff While Traveling

Dr. Jordan Sudberg thinks that traveling for work can be an excellent opportunity to visit new places, connect with colleagues in other cities, and expand your network. But traveling also entails extra obligations, like packing, preparing your home for guests, and booking flights. It is where it’s essential to make sure that everything is managed well so that you can focus on work when you’re away from your base office. These five tips will help you manage your staff while traveling.

1. Keep Lines of Communication Open

When you’re in a different city, you may be tempted to log off for some time. But as the boss, it is your responsibility to ensure that your team’s needs are met. Ensuring that there is always someone in the office who can take care of urgent tasks while you’re away. According to a study by the Center for Creative Leadership, most employees who experience “high levels of job dissatisfaction admitted that they had higher expectations of their supervisor than their more satisfied co-workers.” In simple terms, if your staff expect more from you, you should deliver more by ensuring that everything is managed smoothly even when you’re away from the office.

2. Delegate Tasks to Other Staff Members

It would be best to use specific standard tools like email and conference calls to get things done. However, since many of your team members are on the other side of the world, it’s hard for them to do their part in completing daily tasks. It is why you should ask other staff members to help meet some of the functions that are not so critical but still need your attention.

3. Keep their personalities in mind

You should know that not every team member can handle specific tasks when delegating tasks. You should also know that not all personalities are suited to particular tasks. For example, if someone in your team is known for being a stress case, they might not be the best person to deal with a stressful customer phone call.

4. Give them autonomy

Helping out with daily tasks doesn’t mean you have to control their entire work day. Instead, you should ensure that your team members are given the autonomy to do the jobs themselves, which will help them perform better in the long run. According to a Cornell University study, “employees who felt they had control over their workday were more satisfied with their jobs, happier with their colleagues, and higher in overall productivity than employees who did not have that control.”

5. Relax

According to pain management specialist Dr. Jordan Sudberg, when people feel overwhelmed, they do everything at once. It can often lead to a sense of anxiety, stress, and more work. When you’re constantly stressed while on vacation, you’re not going to have time to relax. You should keep a separate account on your phone with some relaxation apps that are used just for times like these.

These tips will help you manage your staff while traveling. Dr. Sudberg, “psychological stress can arise from many different causes. Rather than focusing on the symptoms, work to find the root cause of your stress and address it.

Right to be Forgotten

The Supreme Court and the right to be forgotten

In recent year, the ‘right to be forgotten service‘ has become increasingly popular. For example, a search engine operator can be oblige to remove certain result from a list of search result. Since the Cotija judgment by the highest European court in 2014 , the number of removal requests to online search engines has increased enormously. The question under which condition such a request must be grant has led to much lower case law. Recently, the Supreme Court , the highest Dutch court, also had to consider this. What was the situation?

A man is sentence to six year in prison for attempt murder. The appeal in the criminal case is still pending. The man has since mention in various media. The case even inspires an author to write a book in which a murder is committee by a character of the same name. Entering the man’s full first and last name as a search term in Google Search displays results from web pages related to it.

Which interest outweighs?
The man start summary proceeding against Google in which he demand that the hyperlink be remove. In these kind of case, different interest are oppose: the privacy interest of the man, the economic interest of the operator of the search engine and the interest of internet user. The court and the court of appeal ultimately attribute decisive importance to the interest of the public.

Court too short through the bend
The Supreme Court states first and foremost that the privacy interest of a natural person generally carries the most weight, but that this may be different if special reasons justify the interference with the right to privacy. Focusing on the present case, according to the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal was too short-sight.

The court should have check whether the public has an interest in the relevant search result being show if the full name of the man is search. The court should then have weighed this interest against the interest of the man, taking into account that his conviction is not yet irrevocable. The Supreme Court refers the case to another court for further settlement.

How to Correct Workplace Errors

How to Correct Workplace Errors

Workplace errors are inevitable no matter how great an employee is, especially in a fast-paced environment. Mistakes are even more pronounced for those with limited workplace supervision. It is not a case of there being no one to look after the employee; instead, it is a case that the supervisor lacks sufficient experience to look after everything. One will always fail in their job if they cannot attend to their work and even guide inexperienced people.

1. Taking Responsibility for the Error

Taking responsibility is one of the best things that one can do to correct workplace errors. The most important thing is to make sure that they identify the error and not make excuses for it. Delaying responsibility for something they did wrong does not get anything done. It should be noted, however, that taking responsibility has its limits, such as when someone has done something unintentionally. Without making long explanations, accountability should be taken immediately when a mistake is noticed.

2. Self-Reflection – Learning from Mistakes

After taking responsibility for the error, the employee should learn to see what they did wrong to rectify it the next time. To do this, they should reflect on the error and analyze what made it happen. This is extremely important because self-reflection allows them to see what happened and why. It will also help them build a better track record from mistakes in the future.

3. Identifying Disadvantageous Situations

One can easily be a victim of their own mistake when one cannot identify the situation that led to it. One might keep on making the same mistakes no matter how hard one tries to avoid making them. Recognizing this situation means that one should know when and where they have made a mistake before they can improve on their track record. Dr. Jordan Sudberg says that it is essential to be aware of one error and the learning opportunities that come from them. The awareness will allow one to see them and realize where they can improve.

4. Developing a Learning Culture

One of the most important things people do wrong in their workplace is that they lack the habit of learning by observing others more than they do by themselves. Dr. Jordan, an expert at correcting workplace errors, says that catching up with other people’s mistakes is one way for people to learn without wasting time and effort. The more people spend their time around others, the more they learn from their mistakes.

5. Constructing a “Learning Timeline.”

Constructing a learning timeline is another way for an employee to catch up on things that happened to them in the past. This is important because it helps in having a better idea of what has happened and how badly they have done them. Once one is aware of how poorly they have done things before, one can determine where they can improve on their work record going forward; this would allow them to make sure they don’t repeat the same mistakes.

The most effective way to correct workplace errors is for employees to understand what they have done wrong and learn from it. Identifying the situation that led to it and learning how to avoid repeating those mistakes are things that will make one a better person at their job. According to Dr. Jordan Sudberg, it is essential to have a culture of learning in which one learns from their own mistakes or those of others. One should be able to see what they have done wrong and correct it in the future.

How to Create a Modern Website

How to Create a Modern Website

A website is often the first thing that potential customers see when they learn about a business, so it’s important to make a good impression. According to former arbitrage trader, Helen Lee Schifter, a modern-looking website indicates that a business is keeping up with the times, and can help attract a wider audience. The following are some tips on how to create a modern-looking website:

1. Use Plenty of White Space

White space, also called negative space, is the area of a website design that is left empty. It’s the space between elements on the web page, and it’s an important part of creating a modern look. In the past, web designers tended to pack as much information as possible into every available space. These days, however, less is more.

Using plenty of white space gives the website a clean and spacious feel. It makes the content easier to read and navigate, and it can help improve user experience. White space can also be used to highlight specific elements on the web page, making them more likely to catch someone’s eye.

2. Stick to a Minimalist Design

A minimalist design is another key element of creating a modern look for a website. Minimalism is all about stripping down the design to its bare essentials. This means using clean lines, simple shapes, and a few colors. It’s important to be intentional with every element being included in the design and only keep the necessary ones.

3. Use Bold Colors and Simple Graphics

Bold colors and simple graphics are another way to create a modern look for a website. In the past, web designers tended to use a lot of small graphics and subdued colors. These days, however, designs are much bolder and more vibrant. Subtle colors can still be used if it will be appropriate for a brand, but it’s always nice to experiment with different shades and tones.

4. Incorporate Large Fonts

Incorporating large fonts into a website design is another great way to create a modern look. According to Helen Lee Schifter, large fonts are easy to read, which is especially important for people who are browsing on mobile devices.

They also make a statement and can help draw attention to specific pieces of content on the web page. The fonts should also not be very large as they will be difficult to read.

5. Optimize for Mobile Devices

Finally, it’s important to optimize the website for mobile devices. In recent years, there has been a shift from desktop computers to mobile devices as the primary way people browse the internet.

As a result, it’s now more important than ever before to make sure that a website looks good on all types of browsers and devices. Mobile optimization can be achieved through responsive design or by creating a separate mobile version of the website altogether. Whichever method is used, the website should be easy to use on both desktop computers and mobile devices.

Final Remarks

Creating a modern-looking website is not a very difficult task. By following these simple tips—such as using plenty of white space, sticking to a minimalist design, using bold colors and simple graphics— it is possible to create a website with an updated look that will appeal to a wider audience.

Furthermore, with so many people now browsing the internet on their phones and tablets, it’s more important than ever to make sure that a website looks good on all types of browsers and devices.

Things We Learned in ‘The Silent Count’ by E.A. Smiroldo

Suppose you’re looking for a great climate fiction thriller read wherein the protagonist takes the overwhelming task of using nuclear technology to mitigate climate change. In that case, The Silent Count by E.A. Smiroldo is perfect for you!

Here are a few things that we learned from The Silent Count:

Climate Change is Real

The Silent Count reminded us of an ongoing crisis that needs to be addressed—climate change. We’ve been experiencing the consequences of climate change through strong typhoons, tornadoes, and abnormal temperature changes. It might take a toll on humanity in the long run if a lack of action occurs.

Music Unites Us

As a singer-songwriter herself, E.A. Smiroldo incorporated song lyrics throughout the book. The lyrics are from original songs written and performed solely by E.A. Smiroldo. One of the characters, Jericho Wells, is an aspiring rockstar who uses his platform and music not just to express himself but also to send out an important message. His songs tell the message of unity for humanity and the planet.

People With Power Will Do Whatever It Takes

Just as the saying goes, ‘With great power comes great responsibility.’ Authorities have the supreme power to spearhead change for everyone’s sake. But when power is given to the wrong individuals, things get messy. This book showed us that some officials would do whatever it takes if it’s something they will benefit from—even if it’s not good for the citizens.

It Is Okay to Seek Help from Others

The main character in the book, Dara Bouldin, is a devoted geo-engineering student that’s been through a lot. Coming from a tragedy where she lost her mother in a wildfire, Dara is dedicated to helping them to change the consequences of climate change. After her dad lost all their money from a gambling addiction, Dara had to work hard to pay their debts. Throughout the book, we can see Dara’s journey to self-fulfillment while working on her climate-change project. This book showed us that sharing your problems with others is okay. You don’t have to keep all your burdens to yourself; your most trusted ones will always have your back. You can check out The Silent Count on Amazon.
